Triangle Pose

The Triangle Pose, or Trikonasana, is a foundational yoga posture that embodies a sense of expansion and balance. To practice this pose, stand with your feet wide apart. Turn one foot out at a 90-degree angle and the other foot slightly inwards. As you inhale, extend your arms out parallel to the ground. On an exhale, reach forward with your torso over the outstretched leg, maintaining a straight back. Place your hand on your shin, ankle, or the floor beside your foot. The opposite arm points toward the sky, creating a straight line from the grounded hand. Gaze up or forward, allowing your chest to open. This pose provides a profound stretch along the side of the body, as well as a sense of grounding through the feet. It fosters flexibility in the spine and hips while improving balance and stability. Throughout the pose, concentrate on your breath, finding a harmonious flow of energy. Triangle Pose offers both a physical stretch and a mental embrace of space and equilibrium. Remember to practice with awareness, honoring your body’s comfort and any necessary modifications.
