Child’s Pose

The Child’s Pose, or Balasana, is a gentle and restorative yoga pose that encourages relaxation and introspection. To enter this pose, kneel on the floor with your big toes touching and knees spread apart. As you exhale, lower your torso between your thighs and sit back onto your heels. Extend your arms forward or alongside your body, with palms facing down. Allow your forehead to rest on the floor, a cushion, or a prop for support. This pose encourages the spine to gently round, creating a soothing stretch along the back. As you breathe deeply, let go of tension and stress with each exhale. Child’s Pose is an opportunity to find calmness and create a safe space for yourself within your practice. You can linger in this pose for as long as you find comfort, nurturing a peaceful connection between your breath, body, and mind.
